Social Entrepreneur’s Profile

Francesca Cavallini

Tice Live and Learn

Francesca aims to create a world where every child and  teenager with learning disabilities becomes aware of their individuality and their potential to reach the goals they set for themselves. She promotes the awareness and expression of individual potential through combining applied research, psychological intervention, and new technologies for children and their families.

The mission of the social enterprise before Corona

As the number of learning disability diagnoses is increasing faster than the capacity of systems and many affected children and young people suffering from depression and isolation, Francesca Cavallini sees a role for psychologists in helping children, parents, and schools to shape children’s future pathways based not on their learning disability but on their potential.

What changed with Corona?

The pandemic causes a significant acute public health risk and has unforeseen long-term effects on the mental health of children and adolescents. Francesca manages to support teenagers and their families who are suffering from mental health problems during this unique time. She offers free psychological support, filling the gap of the national health system that is overwhelmed with the pandemic.

A selection of tools provided by Tice:

  • Online Library: An online library is available with the support of two psychologists for teens aged between 11 and 13 years. They would get support for their homework. The online library takes place on zoom.
  • Mindfulness: Every morning, teenagers and young adults will be able to join mindfulness charge-free sessions on Tice’s Instagram channel.
  • Parent training meetings: Both parents and children, between 9 and 11 years old, can attend free meetings to address videogames dependency risk.
